The Denver Brass salutes its heroes, all across America!
The Denver Brass celebrates Memorial Day with “The Sound of America,” May 22 & 23 at the acoustically magnificent Newman Center for the Performing Arts. Join family, friends, service veterans and community heroes to pay tribute to the ideals and spirit of the American tradition. Travel from sea to shining sea with America’s best-known composers: George Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland & John Philip Sousa. Thrilling all-American sounds include jazz, classical and pop favorites as well as original Colorado sounds – Music from How the West Was Won, “On the Trail” from Grand Canyon Suite, and childhood memories of The Denver Brass - “When Life was Groovy!” The premier performance of Hymn to Freedom, by Denver Brass composer Andrew Wolfe, will resonate with an inspirational tribute to those whose valiant acts of patriotism and heroism made America the land of liberty, and The Denver Brass’ “Armed Forces Salute” will honor all those who have defended our freedom – be ready to stand and be recognized! The concert comes to a thrilling conclusion with Kaitlin Odil’s stirring arrangement of “America the Beautiful,” and America’s own march, “Stars and Stripes Forever.” There’s something for everyone, and a memorable Memorial Day Celebration is guaranteed!
The Denver Brass also applauds those whose achievements and deeds win our respect and admiration on a daily basis… all of you! In support of 9 Cares Colorado Shares, please be a hero and bring canned goods to donate to those who do not have food on their tables. In return, we’ll take $5 off your ticket purchased at the door.
Regardless of show or styles of music, The Denver Brass puts the emphasis on great sound and music that stirs the soul.
