The Denver Brass is proud to welcome long-time guest artists, Celtic Colorado Pipes & Drums as one of our many guest artists for both Echoes of the
Emerald Isles, March 10-11 at Bethany Lutheran Church, and Brass, Bagpipes & Co: Off Kilt-er!, March 16-18 at the Newman Center for the Performing
Celtic Colorado Pipes & Drums is comprised of pipers and drummers from different bands and solo musicians from throughout Colorado. They play traditional Celtic music, but focus on playing with other instruments not traditionally considered Celtic in nature. The blend of bagpipes and drums with brass, woodwinds and/or stringed instruments must be felt to be believed. When you see and hear them play, you will feel the heritage of the Celtic culture shine through. There are few things more inspiring than when they march in playing Scotland the Brave, and join us on a variety of exciting pieces including Amazing Grace and Highland Cathedral, among many others!
On both shows they will feature pipers Jim FitzRandolph, Kelly FitzRandolph, David Land, Blaine Lee, Patty Sutterlin, Susan Thornton, Marilyn Von Fay and Mike Nelson. They will also feature drummers Kathleen MacIrvin, Lindsay Cuthill, Kelcey Land and drum major John Thornton.
Celtic Colorado Pipes & Drums has been with us since the very beginning, when we first created the combination of brass and bagpipes 23 years ago. It has since expanded to two unique shows at two incredible venues. First, you can hear them at Echoes of the Emerald Isles, March 10-11 at Bethany Lutheran Church, also featuring guest organist, Rick Seaton. Next they'll join us for our St. Patrick's Day extravaganza Brass, Bagpipes & Co: Off Kilt-er!, March 16-18 at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts where we'll feature over 30 guest performers, including Rocky Mountain Highland Dancers, Wick School of Irish Dance, Joanna & Iain Hyde - Fiddle & Guitar, and Todd Teske - Tenor.
