Press Release: Wind from the Mountain

Wind from the Mountain: The monumental sound of brass and organ

March 3, 2024 – Denver, CO – Capture the feeling of a perfect Coloradan hike at Denver Brass’ Wind from the Mountain. This performance features the works of Colorado composers, arrangers, and music that captures the awe-inspiring scenery and history of our beloved home, such as Richard Strauss’ Alpine Symphony arranged for brass and organ and Steve Wiest’s New Seasons, and features guest artist Rick Seaton on organ.

As you crest the hill the sun cracks through the clouds. The afternoon thunderstorm finally lets up just in time; you’re nearly beyond the tree line now. The sun’s rays dry the cold rain drops off of your skin as a chill gust of wind rushes through the alpine valley; rustling the aspens and sending ripples through the sea of wild flowers covering the ground. You may not be able to put this feeling into words later, but you can hear it in the monumental sound of brass and organ.

Enjoy an art gallery featuring works from artists from RedLine, The Art Garage, and more. Art will be available for viewing and purchase in the Fellowship Hall before the concert and during intermission. Donors receive early access.
