WHAT IS FUSION 5280?

An “all-new concert experience,” but what does that entail? Fusion 5280 is all about a celebration of Colorado and the myriad cultures that unite in our Mile High City. You’ll be attending a concert featuring the same sensational brass sound and classic pieces you love, but the big change with Fusion 5280 is how you’ll be viewing the concert. It only seemed right to bring such a stunning tribute to Denver to the very hub of our performing arts— the gorgeous Seawell Ballroom at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts in the heart of downtown. Table-style seating in this iconic venue will set the stage for a truly impressive performance from one of your favorite cornerstones of the Denver music scene: the Denver Brass. We’ve been making music here for 40 years, and we know just what you’re craving now that in-person concerts are back. Our programming is sure to stun with the iconic American compositions of Samuel Barber’s “Adagio” and Copland’s “Fanfare for the Common Man.” We’ll narrow in on Colorado’s past with the sacred sounds of Ellisor’s “Wind from the Mountain” paying homage to our local geographical history with movements such as “Sunrise over Summit Lake” and “Fight of the Bull Elk.” After sizzling Latin selections nodding to the American matador, we will all bear witness to the World Premier of Denler’s “Brass & Stone” composed specifically for the Denver Brass. We’ll close out the night with a thrilling tribute to Denver’s own Five Points jazz scene that will be sure to keep you dancing out the door.

While we will have traditional auditorium-style seating available in the Ballroom, we wanted to present this concert in a more intimate fashion with tabled seating and libations and bites available to enhance your viewing experience. The Denver Brass will remain the primary focus of the event— we made sure there’s no bad seat in the house to watch David Artley’s fingers fly across his valves or Andy Wolfe’s slide move at record-breaking speeds. Fusion 5280 is a celebration of all the things we share as denizens of Colorado, and we hope you can commune with us on January 30th at 2:00pm. We’re extending the celebration with a pre-show donor reception at 12:45pm in deep appreciation for our community here in Denver.
